  • At your request Dr. Scott will perform medical evaluations in Denver, Grand Junction, Glenwood Springs, or Colorado Springs, Colorado and address your questions and issues on the claim(s) and claimant(s)

• In-house Physician advising

• Assumption of Care and Case Management Services

  • At his Denver practice, Dr. Scott can assume care and case management for workers' compensation cases

• Initial evaluation of claim causality and compensability for acute, chronic and complex cases

  • Examples: cases of degenerative arthritis, carpal tunnel and cumulative strain cases

• Review of initial clinical diagnosis and assessment of the work relationship

• Review of medical utilization to determine if medical treatment is appropriate and consistent with State Medical Treatment Guidelines, especially in cases with over six weeks of lost time or medical treatment

• Medical review of requests to authorize treatment to confirm claim related and treatment recommended under the Medical Treatment Guideline

• Opinion and projection if claimed injury will lead to any temporary or permanent impairment of function or disability and the means to control risk exposure

• Impairment rating review under AMA Guides, revised 3rd, 5th and 6th edition

• Evaluation of health effect due to possible or claimed exposure to physical, chemical, metal or infectious hazards

  • Examples: asbestos, lead, solvents, uranium, viral

• Review of claims made for re-opening based on a change or worsening of condition

• Review of claimed total permanent disability claims
